While Altina Schinasi was pursuing her studies in Paris, she developed a passion for art. After finishing his studies from there, he took admission in The Art Students league in New York, where he honed his skills while learning.
He then worked as a window dresser for various shops on Fifth Avenue. After this he got the courage from where he entered the world of design. It was here that he got the opportunity to collaborate with influential artists like Salvador Dali and George Grosz.
The idea for the Cat-Eye Frame came to Shinasi when she was working as a window display designer. He noticed that there is not much option in terms of eyeglass frames for women. That’s why he started working on it. The Cat-Eye-like frame was inspired by the Harlequin Mask worn during the Carnevale festival in Venice, Italy, when she created the first prototype.
