PARCOURSUP|PARCOURSUP 2024 Repainting The Facade To Hide The Failure
PARCOURSUP : Press release from the LFI-NUPES group
While Parcoursup opens on December 20, the Minister of Higher Education presented, in an interview with JDD, the new features for the 2024 campaign.
The government seems convinced that the stress generated by Parcoursup among high school students and their families is due to a lack of information.
But the fundamental problem is the lack of places: each year, more than 100,000 high school students do not obtain training in the sector of their choice and are ousted from public higher education.
These cosmetic announcements do not in any way improve the orientation of students. Worse, they will accentuate the perverse logic of the platform.
Making the site accessible from the second year will increase the stress of high school students two years before the baccalaureate. Inviting students to choose their first year specialties is yet another tinkering with the Blanquer high school reform.
This orientation from the end of the second year will further accentuate the inequalities between students from well-off backgrounds, who are better informed and supported, and those who do not benefit from the same level of information. Presenting professional integration data will favor certain professional paths and the private sector.
Against this liberal logic which makes guidance a market like any other, we continue to demand the establishment of a real public guidance service, a recruitment plan for psychologists from National Education, in order to better support students, the opening of 150,000 places in higher education and a significant increase in the resources allocated to establishments making it possible to restore the right to continue studies.
We continue to demand the repeal of Parcoursup, the reestablishment of the baccalaureate as a national diploma, and the possibility for all baccalaureate holders to enroll in the training of their choice in higher education.
