Uttarakhand Tunnel:
The first of the 41 laborers trapped in the under-construction tunnel of Silkyara located in Uttarkashi, Uttarakhand for the last 17 days has been taken out.
After several days of rescue operations, workers have now started pulling them out of the tunnel.
In the pictures coming on news agency ANI, workers are seen coming out of the ambulance safely.
According to the information received, a total of five workers have come out so far. He will be brought directly to the health center of Chinyalisaur through ambulance. He will be treated here under the supervision of doctors.
He further added, “If everything goes smoothly, you will see the first worker coming out of the tunnel within 30 minutes.”
The workers are being brought out through pipes on stretchers.
Wheels are fitted at the bottom of these stretchers so that they can be easily pulled from inside the pipe.
This accident happened about 17 days ago on the day of Diwali. At that time these laborers were working in this tunnel.
But as the tunnel caved in, the workers were trapped behind a 70 meter long wall of debris.
After this, the process of removing the debris gradually started. The help of national as well as international experts has been taken in this process.
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said on Tuesday that the work of laying pipes in the tunnel has been completed.
News agency ANI has also shared a picture from inside the health centre, in which it has been told that beds have been prepared for the workers.
Union Minister General VK Singh (retired) and former PMO advisor Bhaskar Khulbe are also present there. They have come out of the Silkyara tunnel some time ago.
Along with this, ambulance, stretcher and doctors are also standing ready outside the tunnel. As soon as the workers are taken out, they will be kept under doctor’s observation.
Excavation done with auger machine
In this process, the horizontal digging process was carried out through an auger machine. Digging in the ground is done through this machine.
Auger machine is also called auger machine or drilling machine in Hindi.
JB Industries of Jaipur has been manufacturing auger machines for many years. Senior sales person of the company Mukesh Kumawat said that he himself is keeping a close watch on the ongoing rescue operation in Uttarakhand.
He explains that the auger machine is used in making holes both vertically and horizontally. Round plates are placed on top of a pipe and there is a cutting edge at the front, i.e. at the mouth, which works to cut soil or rock.
