Weather Alert Drizzling with thunder and lightning may occur at a few places in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal, the Meteorological Department said.
Due to this, light to moderate rain with thunder, lightning and gusty winds may occur at a few places in Tamil Nadu,Puducherry and Karaikal for another 5 days, the Meteorological Department said.
In the lower layers of the tropical cyclone over parts of South India, there is an area where the easterly and westerly winds meet.
In a statement issued in this regard, “Light to moderate rain with thunder, lightning and gusty winds (speed of 30-40 kmph) may occur at a few places in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal today.
Districts are reported to receive heavy rain at one or two places.
Coimbatore, Tirupur, Dindigul, Theni, Dharmapuri, Salem, Kallakurichi, Tiruvannamalai, Tirupattur, Vellore, Nilgiris, Erode, Namakkal, Iranippet, Karur, Tiruchirappalli and Tenkasi

Rain on March 27 and 28. Hearvy rain at a couple of places over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal on March 29.
As far as Chennai and its suburbs are concerned, the sky will remain partly cloudy for the next 48 hours. Light rain with thundershower may occur at a few places in the city. The maximum temperature is expected to be around 34 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature is expected to be around 26 degrees Celsius, the Meteorological Department said.
